| VISION AND MISSION |
|
The Cuban professional soldier is a man who leads an austere life and is
highly committed to his people, with whom he shares success and difficulties.
Society recognizes the extraordinary importance of the task performed by
the military cadres and tries to reward their contribution, as far as is within
the reach of a country of limited economic resources.
| PRINCIPLE OF FULL COMMAND |
|
Full command is a vital principle of military organization.
A lot of attention is given to strengthening the command bodies and to
increasing their efficiency. Officers
should educate their subordinates, in the first place, by personal example.
They should develop in them the qualities of a patriotic and
revolutionary soldier: bravery, a
sense of honor and living habits that are consistent with their important
mission.
| TRAINING AND UPGRADING |
|
Primary attention is given to selecting and preparing the officer corps.
It is a governing moral principle and consistent practice in daily life
that to be an officer of the Revolutionary Armed Forces is not a means of
earning a living but a sense of life that implies a readiness to make sacrifices
for the homeland.
| CARE FOR VETERANS |
|
There is a national system for caring for war veterans, citizens who were
made disabled while on military services and the relatives of those who fell in
combat while fulfilling their duty. This
system also covers retired professional soldiers.
