Find out about the Vision and Mission and the Structure of the Regular Troops.

VISION AND MISSION:

The mission of the regular troops consists in serving as a protective shield and armed vanguard in order to reject any form of military aggression.

STRUCTURE:

THERE ARE ALSO UNITS OF SPECIAL TROOPS.

GROUND UNITS:

Ground troops are the main forces and the most numerous.  The weaponry and military technology with which they are equipped guarantee that the missions assigned to them are fulfilled.  They are structured fundamentally into divisions, brigades and regiments.  There are also independent companies and battalions.

AIR UNITS
The air force and air defense troops are structured into air defense and air force brigades and regiments.  Their main mission is to repel the air strikes of the enemy, support the actions of the ground troops and of the Revolutionary Navy, as well as to guarantee that the troops, forces and population in general are alerted.

The people's air defense has singular importance in the anti-aircraft defense system, since it ensures that there is no economic and political target without protection.

NAVAL UNITS

The units of the Revolutionary Navy constitute naval bases that have brigades and squadrons of missile and torpedo fast attack crafts, anti-submarine ships, other surface vessels and special-destination units.

Their mission is to fight against enemy groupings in the access routes into national territory and to strike blows at the enemy's naval equipment.  An important role is played by the People's Navy, made up of special naval formations and Production and Defense Brigades specializing in sea fighting.
